July 2007
New York, NY—Warrior/Universal Music Group Distribution announces Changes, the major label debut of Lareau featuring singer/songwriter Larry Lareau, drummer Darrin Payne, lead guitarist Pete Gool, bassist Roger Christopherson, and keyboardist Anthony Brown on July 3. The album comes with a bonus track, “Change My World,” mixed by three-time Grammy-winner F. Reid Shippen

The band—from the Jamestown area of Western New York and the Warren area of Pennsylvania—hearkens back to an earlier era of bands like The Eagles, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and America, on into other such musically-inclined acts as The Fray, Maroon 5, and The Dave Matthews Band where the emphasis is placed on the actual music, composition and harmonic structure.

In this age of style over substance and studio trickery masquerading as talent, Lareau is like a cool mountain stream. The band’s title track, “Changes,” was among the most added songs on Adult Contemporary radio in the country for the week of June 11, 2007, in such distinguished company as Paul McCartney, Gwen Stefani and Bon Jovi, according to industry trade magazine Radio & Records. “Changes,” in fact, reached #10 on FMBQ’s AC chart, and is currently #33 on Billboard’s AC chart and #35 on the Mediabase charts.

"We are pleased to be working with Lareau," commented Warrior President Jim Ervin. "They are a group that demonstrates artistic vision from both a songwriting and performance perspective."

Lareau’s music is a feel-good easy-listening’ blend of sophisticated harmonics, catchy melodies sung in Larry’s earthy and warm baritone, intricate musical interplay and an overall sense of total joy, complete with uplifting lyrics and a get-you-out-of-your-seat backbeat.

Lareau Completes New Single With 3X Grammy Winner F. Reid Shippen, Signs New Label Deal With Warrior/UMGD

Lareau has just completed recording their next single “Change My World” with producers Darrin Payne and Anthony Brown at All Sound Studios in Warren, PA. F. Reid Shippen, a platinum-album and multiple Grammy Award-winning mixer, was brought in to do the final mix on the cut. Mixes were conducted at Soundstage Studios in Nashville this past week where Shippen has worked with such notables as Jonny Lang, India.Arie, Backstreet Boys, and Mercy Me to name a few. His latest Grammy was presented for Jonny Lang’s “Turn Around” Album. “Change My World” is being added to the Lareau’s “Changes” CD as a bonus track.

In a last minute offer the group has signed with Warrior/UMGD in Hollywood. “Lareau had several offers on the table from labels due to a restructuring of their former label Rust Records. With having their single “Changes” in the Top 20 (currently # 17 at AC Radio) the offers started coming in. We decided the best and most exciting move was to sign with Warrior/UMG. The label is currently enjoying great success with Eddie Money’s latest chartbuster “You Don’t Know Me”, says Lareau’s business manager Jim Quinn of Sunburst Entertainment.
